Baca County:
--At Burchfield SWA on May 5, Kaempfer reported Northern Parula, Northern Waterthrush, and Rose-breasted Grosbeak.

Bent County:
--A KENTUCKY WARBLER was reported by Duane Nelson at Van's Grove on May 1.  Van's Grove is half way between CR 16 & CR 19 on the north side of CR JJ.  The warbler was associating with Chipping Sparrows.
--At Tempel Grove on May 6, Kaempfer reported 1 f Hooded Warbler, 1 singing Northern Parula, and an Eastern Phoebe.

Boulder County:
--A singing Northern Waterthrush and singing Northern Parula were reported by Nunes at Tantra Lake in south Boulder on May 5.
--2 1-st year m Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were reported by Gent in Gregory Canyon in Boulder on May 5.
--An ad Harris's Sparrow was reported by Floyd at Sale Lake in Boulder on May 5.  It was on the NE shore in the back yard of the last house on the south side of Island Dr.
--A m Rose-breasted Grosbeak and a F Hooded Warbler were reported by Ely on the CU campus below the old Field House on May 5.
--A singing m Chestnut-sided Warbler was found by Gent at the N end of Goose Creek on the CU East Campus on May 6.
--At Twin Lakes on May 6, Nunes reported a singing Eastern Phoebe and singing Northern Waterthrush.  The phoebe was at the start of the trail off of Twin Lakes Road and the waterthrush was in the cattail marsh at the NE corner of the east lake.
--At Walden/Sawhill ponds, Nunes reported that a Green Heron has returned on May 6.  Plage reported that the Boulder Bird Club First Sunday at Walden Ponds had at least 2 Green Herons on May 6.
--At Boulder Reservoir on May 6, Gent found a transitional RED-THROATED LOON.
--A singing m Rose-breasted Grosbeak was reported by Floyd at Walden Ponds on the west end on May 6.

Dolores County:
--A Northern Waterthrush was reported by Dunmire in Dolores River Canyon on May 1.  It was in heavy brush at 4.5 miles north of Bradfield Bridge CG.  Access is on a rough trail that follows the river from the CG.

Douglas/Jefferson Counties:
--A Summer Tanager was reported by Walbek on May 3 at Chatfield SP east of Plum Creek foot bridge singing occasionally.

El Paso County:
--At Big Johnson, Peterson reported a possible NEOTROPIC CORMORANT and Red-necked Grebe on May 1.  The grebe was transitioning into alternate plumage.  On May 2, Goff refound the Red-necked Grebe at Big Johnson.

El Paso/Pueblo Counties:
Chico Basin Ranch which is a fee area.
--On May 5, Brown reported that a Ovenbird was banded and 2 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were around the banding station.  Harnish reported a Summer Tanager at HQ on May 5.
--On May 6, Percival reported m Hooded Warbler, Ovenbird, m Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and a GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH around the banding area; a Northern Waterthrush in the wet area with willows; and a Northern Waterthrush at Rose Pond.

Kiowa County:
--2 Summer Tanagers were reported by Kaempfer in Eads on May 5.

Mesa County:
--Arnold reported that the BLACK-CHINNED SPARROW continues in Devil's Kitchen area of Colorado NM on May 5.

Montrose County:
--A male Purple Martin was reported by Dexter flying around the Nucla Town Reservoir on May 6.

Montezuma County:
--A LUCY'S WARBLER was reported by Arnold in Yellowjacket Canyon on May 3.

Morgan County:
--A Northern Parula was reported by Mlodinow at the Visitor Center at Jackson Lake SP on May 6
--A singing m Indigo Bunting and 1 Blackpoll Warbler were reported by Mlodinow in the woods N of the Visitor Center at Jackson Lake SP on May 6.

Prowers County:
--At a spot near the Holly Cemetery, Kaempfer reported 2 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and a White-eyed Vireo on May 5.
--2 Northern Cardinal were reported by Kaempfer at Lamar Community College Woods on May 6.

Weld County:
--A Short-billed Dowitcher was reported by Mlodinow on CR 59 on May 3 and 2 Short-billed Dowitchers were reported at the ponds on CR 59 my Schmoker on May 6.
--A singing Curve-billed Thrasher was reported by Mlodinow at Crow Valley by the ranger house N of CG on May 3.
--A f Indigo Bunting was reported by Mlodinow at Crow Valley CG on May 3.
--A GLOSSY IBIS was reported by Mlodinow on CO 74 e of Severance at Baldridge Estates Pond on May 3.
--A YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was reported by Mark Miller at Norma's Grove on May 5.
--A Black-and-white Warbler was reported by Sanders and the DFO field trip at Grover City Park on May 6.

Friday, May 11
Cherry Creek Reservoir:  Leader:  Bob Brown (303-791-6204).  Meet at 0630 at the Marina on west side near Cherry Creek High School in Cherry Creek State Park.  State Parks pass required.

Saturday, May 12
Waterton:  Leader:  Hugh Kingery (303-814-2723).  4-5 mile hike Downstream.  Wear long pants due to bare-leg un-friendly plants such as poison ivy, thistles and knapweed.  Meet at 0600 at Audubon Center/Discovery Pavilion (Left turn immediately after turning from Wadsworth onto Waterton/Roxborough road (4.4 miles south of C470) and before the DOW parking lot for Waterton Canyon).

Chatfield State Park:  Leader: Joey Kellner (303-978-1748).  Meet at 0600 at West (Deer Creek) entrance to park.  State Parks Pass required.

Lower Bear Creek:  Leader Mike Henwood (303-716-8551, cell 720-840-5070 or hawkhen@aol.com).  Meet at 0600 at parking lot on Morrison Road at C470, NW corner next to Conoco Station.

Barr Lake State Park:  This is a ten-mile, all-day hike around the lake.  State Parks pass required.  Leader:  Dick Schottler (303-278-8035).  Call leader if you plan to go.  Meet at 0600 at Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory.  Exit I-76 at Bromley Lane; go east about 1/4 mile and turn right (south) on Lark Bunting Lanes, go to end of road.

Castlewood Canyon State Park:  Leaders:  Kirk & Kyle Huffstater (303-660-9298).  Meet at 0630 at old entrance.  From CO 86, 1/2 mile west of Franktown, turn south on Castlewood Canyon Road, go 2 miles to old Entrance.  State Parks pass required.

Sunday, May 13
Barr Lake Periphery:  Leader: Dick Anderson (303-757-4582).  Meet at 0730 on access road to entrance station at Barr Lake SP.  This trip does not involve much walking.

Rocky Mountain Arsenal:  Leader Urling Kingery (303-814-2723).  Space limited; contact Leader to register.
