[cobirds] Pueblo birding 5/8

I walked all of the Valco Ponds and Rock Canyon area, below Pueblo Reservoir dam this morning.  I didn't find the Black-throated Blue Warbler that Lin Lilly saw on Sunday, though it may still be around somewhere.  There were thousands of Violet-green Swallows, and other species of swallows mixed in.  I mostly had the regular breeding birds of the area, Yellow-breasted Chats, Yellow Warblers, Black-chinned Hummingbirds, Ash-throated Flycatchers, Western and Eastern Kingbirds, among others.  The most interesting bird for this area, was a Lewis's Woodpecker (which I also saw yesterday), it was in Rock Canyon.  I heard a perfect Common Nighthawk call.  I feel that it was perched in a cottonwood and decided to call once, though since I didn't see it, it is best to not call it as a nighthawk, since there is a chance it was a Starling (though I've seen and heard Common Nighthawk on May 7th once at Hasty Campground, which is the earliest one I've seen in Colorado).  A few migrant that don't breed here, that I did find were very few Yellow-rumped Warblers, and an Orange-crowned Warbler.

There was a basic plumage Common Loon off Sailboard launching area at Pueblo Reservoir today as well.
