Hi Cobirders,
Slow at Chico Basin Ranch today. One Ovenbird (FOS) at 730, couple of Brown Thrashers about 900, and a few sparrows as we were closing the last nets at 1100.
Looking forward to a weather change. No Golden-winged Warbler. No Worm-eating Warbler, no Nashville, Townsend's nor Black-and-White Warblers were found. It was fun while it lasted! Only saw a couple of Orange-crowned Warblers, Myrtle and Audubon's Warblers, and maye 2 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. Pretty dead.
New birds banded today: 13
Dusky Flycatcher 1 (FOS)
Ovenbird - 1 (although an unbanded bird was also seen later on) (FOS)
Brown Thrasher 2
Lincoln's Sparrow 1
Lark Sparrow 5
White-crowned Sparrow 3
Banding resumes Monday, weather permitting.
