[cobirds] CFO groups in my yard - Awesome!

I just had to leave a note here thanking the two big groups of people
who came to my yard over the weekend. I took a day off work to
accommodate the Friday trip, and while they didn't know that part,
they left money in my donation jar that really helped me stay 'in
seed'; it does get expensive. The group who came Saturday, did the
same, and Bill Kaempher left yet another 20# bag of Black-oil
Sunflower seeds (something he seems to do whether or not I'm home!)

I love it when folks come to visit; I meet such interesting people and
usually learn at least a couple new things and often even see a new
bird while they visit. It's great fun! Nothing too exciting this
time: Cassin's Finch, Yellow Warbler, Bullock's Oriole, Black-chined
and Broad-tailed Hummingbirds, Pine Siskins, House Finch, and dozens
of Evening Grosbeaks; something I forget is a huge deal to lots of
people. Hopefully folks got to find the Am. Dippers, Bobolinks,
Creepers, Waxwings and other goodies around town.

The other thing I'd like to mention is that, without fail, both groups
took great care to keep my gates closed. THANK YOU! In Colorado, one
always leaves a gate exactly as they found it; open or closed. I
happen to have small dogs...awhile ago, someone left a gate open; my
pup was attacked by the vicious dog next door and put in the
hospital. Thankfully she's fine now...but it was rather traumatic for
the both of us.

This weekend was especially sweet, as several people mentioned they'd
been waiting for a long time to come visit my yard. For me it's fun to
finally meet folks I've come to recognize on CoBirds (Hello again,
Bobolink!) Some mentioned I've not posted much lately; it's true; but
I still like visitors! Just call, set it up and come on down; no
telling what you'll find.

To see what's been in my yard during the month...visit my blog: Rural
Chatter. Just Google it, you'll find it. I keep a running list of
sighted birds each month, a list by month and a total bird list there,
as well as some notes and photos I keep while I continue to learn
about birds and such.

Thanks for the wonderful weekend,
Beverly Jensen
