[cobirds] RMBO Banding Station Report, 5/17 and 5/20

Hi All,

We opened only briefly last Thursday before I left for 2 days in rainy Jacksonville, FL.  Caught our FOS Black-headed Grosbeak, a Spotted Towhee (F w/ brood patch), 3 Red-winged Blackbirds and a Brown-headed Cowbird.

We were back in business today (Sunday), and had our best day of this slow banding season.  Banded 21 birds plus caught 6 Yellow Warblers banded in prior seasons:

House Wren       3

Swainson’s Thrush          1 (FOS)

Gray Catbird       4

Cedar Waxwing                1 (FOS)

Yellow Warbler 6 new, 6 banded in previous years (2 from 2007, 1 from 2009, 1 from 2010 and 2 from 2011)

MacGillivray’s Warbler   1 (FOS)

Common Yellowthroat  2

Yellow-breasted Chat    1

Song Sparrow    1

Red-winged Blackbird    1 (F w/ brood patch)

Open daily, weather permitting, through June 3.
