[cobirds] Life Bird! GW Warbler, Chico Basin Ranch, El Paso

A huge thank you to Nancy, Steve, and Debbie, who were at the RMBO banding station when Jeanne and I arrived on Friday morning. Without their combined assistance, we would have missed the Golden-winged Warbler working the upper canopy of one of the tall cottonwoods. It was a LIFE BIRD for us!

At Rose Pond (Pueblo County) we finally found a Palm Warbler (Western) after almost an hour of searching. What a beauty and a Colorado Lifer for us.

Lots to see until we left at 2pm. Lark sparrows, Ash-throated Flycatcher, Bullock's Oriole, Bobwhites, and a Brown Thrasher were highlights for us. Also, we finally got our FOY Lark Bunting along Peyton Highway near the 4-way stop at Squirrel Creek Road. Right behind it was a lone Turkey Vulture sitting in a field.

Good Birding, All!!
