Has anyone had experience with bluebirds showing neurological damage? Just last weekend, for the 4th time in about 6 years, I came across a bluebird showing neurological damage (unable to stand, wings spread, falling forward on its face). This one was an adult, the others have been either adults or fledglings. The ones I found in the past died in short order. I got this one to a rehabilitator. I live in a horse-property subdivision, most people on 5 acres, scrub oak/grassland habitat, west of Castle Rock. No crops to speak of, so I don't anticipate that anyone is spraying pesticides, but I do see people spraying herbicides. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this, and if you know of alternative herbicides that could be better to use, I could pass out information to my neighbors. Alternatively, can you think of anything else that may be causing this? Thanks in advance for your time.
