Subject: More Stratton Open Space banding news!
Today (Friday 6/1/12) at Stratton Open Space*, I recaptured After Second
Year (ASY) Male (had CP, no BP) Tree Swallow (TRES) in bird box SOS 2A,
banded as a nestling banded in box SOS 5A on 06/02/10. Why there was a male
in this box with an incomplete nest is a mystery to me. These bird boxes are
less than 100 yards apart.
Also, I recaptured an ASY F TRES in bird box SOS 24 that we trapped and
banded incubating 4 eggs in box SOS 21 as a Second Year (SY) F on 06/10/09.
These bird boxes are about 200 yards apart.
Best wishes,
Dave
