[cobirds] Prothonotary Warbler (El Paso)

COBirders,

New birder Andrew from Denver and I watched the Sonderman Park Prothonotary Warbler forage at the base of willows and up to about 25’ as it moved from the bridge by the old beaver dam (upstream from the location given in this morning’s reports) upstream about 100 yards.  This sighting occurred around 4:00 p.m.  This potbellied warbler had ratty, rusty plumage on its head. Thanks to those birders who report rarities like this one for those of us who love seeing eastern warblers and usually have to see them either in Colorado or else as they are portrayed in field guides.
