[cobirds] southern Larimer county

I’ve been in SE Texas, so this may be a lame, ‘old-news’ kinda post but

Broad-tailed hummingbird on 4-14, then not seen again until today

House Wren calling loudly today

Western and Mountain bluebirds been here a while, actively checking out houses.

American Kestrel pair making a lot of noise, but probably will refuse the box again!

Say’s Phoebe calling repeated…I have 2 eave shelves up…maybe I can induce them again.  Somebody

Is putting grasses in one, but probably House Finch.

Columbia silkmoth (pair?) apparently joined at the ‘hip’ all morning outside my den window.

Pretty guys – 5.5-6 inch wingspan

Plus the usual suspects, Hairy and Downy, Amer. Goldfinch, both chickadees, Pygmy and WB Nuthatches,

Stellers and occasional Pinyon Jays (especially when I put out peanuts). Calling robin sounded speedy, but

Did not turn out to be a Black-headed Grosbeak.  Chipping Sparrows arrived yesterday, I think.

Mourning, Eurasian-Collared, and Rock Doves.

No sign of my usual nesting tree and violet green swallows, or Black-Headed Grosbeak, Lesser Goldfinch,

Or Lazuli Bunting… YET

Lyons area field trip on Mother’s Day – May 13th.

Davis - at 6,000 ft. NW of Lyons
