Went out to John Martin Reservoir this morning. Was a great birding day!
Red-throated Loon (a lifer for Paul), Least Terns, one Piping Plover...who was about 500 yards outside the nesting area, Marbled Godwits, a lone Least Sandpiper...all in the same place!
Blue Grosbeaks, Northern Shrike, Scaled Quail, and a Bobcat rounded out the day!
Our thanks to the Goffs for stopping to tell us of they had seen the loon...we we're ready to leave...thank goodness we did not!
Just remember those little Piping Plovers and Least Terns do not read the signs...so be very careful and stay well back! ;-)
