[cobirds] Brief bird report after High Park fire

Thanks to all of you who sent the kind and comforting emails after Connie Kogler’s post to the list.  Your thoughts and prayers have gotten us through a tough time.  We lost our horse barn, but an island of green surrounds our home amidst a moonscape.

We will be home for good after our home gets a cleaning on Tuesday.  I contracted pneumonia from the smoke and we must wait.

The Cordilleran Flycatchers are feeding their nestlings! Their nest on the porch survived.  Every surviving birdhouse has a family of either Tree or Violet-Green Swallows in residence.  Of course, the House Wrens were not deterred.  The sad note is that the flam owl nest tree is a stump of charcoal.  I just hope the adults fled ahead of the flames.

Connie, I will be in contact separate from this post.  Thank you all again!
