[cobirds] Bluebird bonanza, Chatfield, Douglas

Mid-day, Mountain Bluebirds thronged the south side of Chatfield, particularly along the edge of the reservoir where they seemed to find food (and seemed to treat the reservoir like a large ocean they did not want to cross). A similarly sized throng of robins mixed with them. A couple of Say's Phoebes, many singing meadowlarks. Our first of the season Vesper Sparrow. All in the middle of the snowstorm.

After this marvel, we drove south from the park on Roxborough Park Road and encountered even more Mountain Bluebirds, with a handful of Westerns. They simply amazed us. We counted hundreds on both Chatfield & RP Road. We wonder if they will stick around for a day or two.
