to see Pelicans for the year so I headed to St. Vrain State Park.
arrived after 12:30PM .
The snow was gone and most of the campers so the campground along the
large pond was empty. So I was able to bird from the car. There were 2
large clumps and 2 smaller groups of Pelicans total more than 70. All
around the campground was flock of Common Grackles( my first was at home
when a single one appeared at the cage feeder that held Black
sunflower seeds. Way too big but its long bill and stretched neck may
got something from
the cage floor.
14 other birds there were seen: all at St. Vrain park in and near
same big pond.
Killdeer 1 (fos)
Robin 1
Canada Geese 20
No. Shoveler 24
Gadwall 10
Cinnamon Teal (all male-fos)

Went across town to SW Longmont to the Cattail Pond a long narrow
pond lined with marsh. The pair of Ospreys were found at the south
end.
