Well, today was mostly negative data gathering. The only migrant, beyond robins, grackles, and such, that I encountered at Crow Valley Campground was a Northern Mockingbird. BYO Playa was birdless. The Murphy's Pasture area had few birds, but a burn along Weld CR 96, about 2 miles west of Weld CR 69, had a Mountain Plover on it.
The dairy water treatment ponds (anyone have a better title?) along Weld CR 51 north of Kersey (at intersection with Weld CR 62.5, on westside of 51) had > 250 Lesser Scaup, 1 Greater Scaup, and one fine Lesser Scaup x Ring-necked Duck hybrid.
The Weld CR 59 ponds, se. of Kersey, still had avocets and 13 LB Dowitchers, but no Dunlin or BN Stilt.
There were plenty of birds at Loloff Reservoir, but nada of interest.
The flooded areas near L Latham and Beebe Draw were nearly avian-free zones, excepting meadowlarks and blackbirds.
Union Reservoir is starting to gather a nice flock of Clark's and Western Grebes, and has a few Eared and Horned Grebes, but little else.
Good Birding
